How to: Get Utility - Gas
Notification Received from ATCO Edmonton 2022 03 25
We have seen a large decrease of site readiness as indicated in our contract which is causing us multiple trips to your site and further delaying your service installation as well as everyone else’s all due to the fact that your sites are not ready after you notify ATCO. An example of this would be on Common/4-Party request - builders/excavators are notifying ATCO of being Site Ready, we send a crew to install the service and the trench isn’t dug or the main isn’t exposed. Starting April 1st the mobilization charge will be utilized to cover our costs of these extra site visits and mobilizations. You can find ALL the requirements of Site Readiness on your contracts.
Here is how we will be handling these notifications and charges:
- When you are site ready (as per contract) an email notification from you is required.
- Common/4-Party (builder dug trench)
- common.service@atcogas.com
- Traditional (ATCO dug trench) or Commercial
- sites.edm@atco.com
- Common/4-Party (builder dug trench)
- A Service Installation Crew will be scheduled

- Common/4-Party (builder dug trench)
- After your “Site Ready” notification has been completed and our Crew or Inspector has indicated a Site Delay where your site is not ready.
- An ATCO Inspector will be calling the Site Contact you indicated on the contract through Quick Connect (please ensure this contact is kept current)
- ATCO Inspector and Crew will do whatever possible by working with your Site Contact to ensure the issue is ratified within reason prior to leaving site.
- The reason for Site Delay and photos of the site delay will be documented and stored within ATCO’s systems for future reference if needed
- If the Site Delay reason can not be ratified within a reasonable timeframe, your site will be place on “Site Delay”.
- Direction to notify ATCO via email when the issue(s) have been ratified will also be discussed with the Site Contact provided.
- Common/4-Party Method (builder dug trench)
- common.service@atcogas.com
- Traditional (ATCO dug trench) or Commercial Methods
- sites.edm@atco.com
- Common/4-Party Method (builder dug trench)
- A discussion within ATCO will take place to determine if the mob charge will be utilized case by case at this point.
- This mob charge will be added to your installation invoice
- Once your site is ready and the issue(s) have been taken care of, an email will be required as mentioned above to the appropriate email address, it is at that time your site will be placed back in the que for installation.
- NOTE – We will not be going out of the way once we receive your notification to install. This will further delay other sites who have followed the site readiness requirements setting them further in the que.
